This week we made tile patterns in Turtle Stitch!

I was inspired by some designs that I came across in a book that focused on imagery from ceramics found at the Archaeological site of Mycenae. I went to Mycenae last year and was very drawn to these designs which depicted imagery that is so familiar to us but was also painted a few thousand years ago. For instance, the following images that I was interested in connecting with were meant to depict palm trees.

I started with the first half of the piece and created new blocks!

Here are some of the blocks that I made

At first I individually typed out the different actions that I wanted the turtle to take.

But eventually I realized it would be faster if I put it in a loop. Figuring out how to add 50 to the Y coordinate was the hardest part of this week's assignment for me.

This is what the final product looks like!
